How it all began

It all started with the crossing of two roads: the love for the Democratic Republic of Congo and the passion for chocolate and coffee that finds its origin in the Belgian roots of the founders of Beans & More. The three founders of B&M have lived and worked in the DRC for many years, some of them for several generations.

This country, which unfortunately has been shaken by incessant conflicts for 20 years, has an incredible but largely untapped agricultural potential. In the absence of market opportunities, rural communities have very little income which poses problems of access to basic needs: basic goods, education, health.

Faced with this situation, Beans & More, through its sister company SCAK, has been active for more than 10 years in North Kivu and Ituri, supporting family farms and cooperatives to improve farming practices and the bean fermentation process. Thanks to SCAK, rural communities are finally finding a stable source of income.

After all these years of experience, it has been possible to better understand the terroirs and the different qualities of beans produced in Eastern Congo and to distinguish between standard and premium quality beans. This is how Beans & More was born in May 2021, to offer Master « bean-to-bar » Chocolate Makers and Coffee brewers, the best we could select for you.
